If you happened not to be able to surf internet on your mobile or home broadband (whether fiber or cable) and your cable / internet TV not working, fixed voice line unable to call out, it is due to Singtel downtime which affected all major telco which includes Starhub and M1 (some reported even MyRepublic are affected). Singtel has also confirmed in news reports that the downtime was due to one of its internet exchange (at Singtel Bukit Panjang Exchange) caught fire at about 2pm today (Wednesday 09 October 2013). I was cut out from connectivity from my Starhub cable, MIO TV (with ADSL internet) and my M1 mobile broadband slightly about 2pm.
However at this point time of writing, it appears that Singtel has restored its ADSL internet service though i was not exactly sure when it was actually restored. Affected areas are in north-west of Singapore which includes, Bukit Panjang, Woodlands, Chua Chu Kang, etc.
In the news reports, it is also reported that DBS ATMs are affected in north-west area. There is no specific time / period given by the telcos of when the services will be restored. This is probably the first time of such major outage happened across Singapore affecting all Telcos. All telcos are updating their progress of service restoration via their Facebook Page.
