Bitcoin Beginner’s Quick Guide

This is a mini guide for those who are wondering what’s all the hype on Bitcoins. This guide will quickly explain the use of bitcoins, the idealogy and the economy of bitcoins. Read through and suprise yourself to the untapped world of virtual currency. Be amazed with the things you can do with your bitcoins. This quick guide is for those using Windows Vista / Win 7 / 2003 / 2008 machines.

 

What is Bitcoins ?!

Bitcoin is a virtual currency where people make use of the bitcoins to purchase services / goods and even trade without the middle man which is the government or banks. Bitcoin have its own exchange rates guides where as you might assume is an economy by itself. When you have Bitcoins, take a look at some of the forums where you can make use of your coins to purchase services / goods within your country or another country for that matters. Example of such is at Bitcoin Talk Forum and CP Bitcoins Forum.

 

This is getting interesting! How do i go start and go about it?

There is a few ways in getting bitcoin. But first and foremost, you need a bitcoin address. This bitcoin address is your virtual wallet. Download the client here.

Once you downloaded the client, install as usual. Your address (alpha numeric randoms) will look something like this -> 12wDRLTdLcjxWRBm4pXT1G3sXb5aoqfaVa

 

Okay, i have got the client running on my machine, what’s next?

Now for starters, you might want to start and try out mining bitcoins. Of course there is other ways of earning bitcoins. You can either provide services like web design, SEO, etc for bitcoins or you can join the trading community where they trade / buy and sell bitcoins. In this quick guide, i assume that you do not have a single bitcoin to begin with. Follow the step by step below in setting up your bitcoin miners. Bitcoin miners are safe to use, it uses your GPU or CPU power to do some hashes and send it back to the pool that you joined. It just uses fairly 10KB/s of bandwidth at any point of time.

Step 1 : If you have an ATI Radeon graphic card, download these setup package here – Win7/Vista/2003/2008 32Bit Windows or 64Bit Windows. If you do not have ATI Radeon graphic card, please go to step 2. Please restart your PC once you install the package before going to step 2 !!

Step 2 : Download the GuiMiner here. This is applicable for both ATI graphic card owner and non ATI graphic owners.

Step 3 : Register yourself at my minipool at TripleMining. Go to https://cripperz.triplemining.com/register

Step 4 : In TripleMining, go to https://cripperz.triplemining.com/account and set your Payout Address to the bitcoin address that you got from Bitcoin Client you downloaded. Also set the Payout Amount to 0.01Btc for starters.

Step 5 : Now i will split the guide for ATI graphic card miners / owners (GPU Miners) and non ATI graphic card miners / owners (CPU Miners)

 

I have ATI Graphic Card, I am a GPU Miner. How to do i start mining?

This portion is for ATI graphic card owners only. For CPU Miners, please check the next guide below. For GPU Miners, follow the step below.

Step 1 : Go to https://cripperz.triplemining.com/ and log-in to your account.

Step 2 : In Triplemining, go to https://cripperz.triplemining.com/workers. Create a worker. Scroll down to see that your worker is created with the username and password defined in that table. This worker details is needed later in GuiMiner.exe.

Step 3 : Launch your GuiMiner.exe, go to File -> New -> New Phoenix Miner. Name it “Phoenix Miner”.

Step 4 : In the tabs, close “Default” and go to “Phoenix Miner” .

Step 5 : Focus on “Server” dropdown menu, select “Triplemining”. Key in your worker id and password in “username” and “password” section of GuiMiner.

Step 6 : Ensure that your graphic card model is shown in “Device”

Step 7 : Focus on “Flags”, key in these flags without the quotes ” PLATFORM=0 DEVICE=0 platform=0 device=0 VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=13 worksize=256 FASTLOOP=false ”

Step 8 : Go to File -> Save Settings

Step 9 : Now click on start mining in Guiminer. You should see some numbers showing 100Mhash/sec in the GuiMiner statusbar.

 

I DONT have ATI Graphic Card, I am a CPU Miner. How to do i start mining?

This portion is for ATI graphic card owners only. For CPU Miners, please check the next guide below. For GPU Miners, follow the step below.

Step 1 : Go to https://cripperz.triplemining.com/ and log-in to your account.

Step 2 : In Triplemining, go to https://cripperz.triplemining.com/workers. Create a worker. Scroll down to see that your worker is created with the username and password defined in that table. This worker details is needed later in GuiMiner.exe.

Step 3 : Launch your GuiMiner.exe, go to File -> New -> New Ufasoft Miner. Name it “CPU Miner”.

Step 4 : In the tabs, close “Default” and go to “CPU Miner” .

Step 5 : Focus on “Server” dropdown menu, select “Triplemining”. Key in your worker id and password in “username” and “password” section of GuiMiner.

Step 6 : Go to File -> Save Settings

Step 7 : Now click on start mining in Guiminer. You should see some numbers showing 5Mhash/sec in the GuiMiner statusbar.

 

I am done, now i can see some hashes. What other resources i can refer to?
